Montmorency cherries are a good candidate for recovery following intense exercise in humans because of their high concentrations of anthocyanins . The first study to demonstrate accelerated exercise recovery used 9 days of Montmorency cherry supplementation (4 days pre-, on the day and 4 days post-exercise)
