A small glass of cherry juice contains the equivalent of 20 five-a-day portions of fruit and vegetables, scientists say.
Researchers measured the cherry juice for its level of antioxidants, found in fruit and vegetables which protect against oxygen free radicals that are known to cause cancer, heart disease, stroke and ageing.
The level, or oxygen radical absorbance capacity, for cherry juice was 8,260 compared to 1,790 for the fruit and vegetables
